ADP® Small Business Grant Contest Announces Sixth and Final Winner for 2014
Grant will help attract new customers and improve dining experience
Toronto, June 17, 2014 - ADP Canada Co., a leading global provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions, today announced that EVOO, a Montréal-based restaurant, is the sixth and final winner of ADP Canada’s 2014 Small Business Grant Contest. The ADP contest offers entrepreneurs the chance to win a $10,000 cash prize.
Young entrepreneurs, Sophie Ouellet, Peter Saunders, and Claudie Harvey met while working in
Montréal’s bustling food industry and formed a strong interest in building a business together. In
November 2012, they opened EVOO to offer a unique dining experience to the residents of St-Henri and
surrounding areas. They use local food as much as possible and make everything in-house – including
the bread and cheese. As they approach their two year anniversary, they are looking for ways to retain
and attract new customers. Based on feedback from friends, food bloggers, and reviews in the media –
EVOO is challenged with providing guests with an inviting dining room. To stay competitive in the ever
changing restaurant landscape, they plan to create a new dining space that will encourage repeat
customers and new clients to venture into their doors.
“We need to make a change to our restaurant to attract new clientele,” said Peter Saunders, co-chef and
co-owner, EVOO. “But, it is difficult for young businesses like ours to access capital to make
improvements. The ADP Grant contest will allow us to make substantial upgrades to our dining room
including new lighting, building booths, and re-building the bar, giving a reason for existing and new
diners to visit us.”
“EVOO is taking proactive action to grow their successful business and we are happy to be able to
support their hard work,” said Greg Secord, President, ADP Canada, Employer Services Division. “We
look forward to seeing the new dining room and EVOO expand as they continue to provide an excellent
