Toronto, November 11, 2009 — ADP Canada, the country’s leading provider of integrated business solutions including payroll and HR administration, today announced the expansion of its Comprehensive Outsourcing Services to include time and attendance management services. The expanded service is aimed at businesses seeking to effectively reduce administrative costs associated with managing a workforce.

ADP Comprehensive Outsourcing Services (COS) provides organizations with a “virtual” payroll and HR administration department that can manage a flexible and scalable combination of payroll, HR and benefits administration. The expanded service announced today now includes ADP ezLaborManager, a hosted time and attendance management solution, which enables employers to input employee schedules and absences. This service helps eliminate understated breaks, overstated hours and employees signing each other in, a process known as “buddy punching,” so that employee time is accurately tracked and workforce activity can be analyzed.

“In the wake of the economic downturn, and as companies prepare for recovery, Canada’s employers are looking to cut operating costs without jeopardizing opportunities to expand,” said Heather Nairn-Rand, ADP Canada’s Vice President, Marketing. “With reliable expertise in payroll, HR administration and time and attendance from ADP organizations can spend their time and talent on matters that drive business.”

Outsourcing a solution for quick cost savings

A recent Gartner Inc. report* states that payroll outsourcing can deliver an average cost saving of 20 to 30 per cent, realized within as few as four to six months, on average.

In addition to payroll-related cost savings, time and attendance processes provide significant opportunities for cost reduction and greater operational efficiency. According to an Environics Research Group study commissioned by ADP Canada, time and attendance administration accounts for more than 40 per cent of total HR costs. Further, the study revealed that between one-third and one-half of organizations still rely on paper forms and documents to manage these activities.

“With COS, employers don’t need to chase down line managers, struggle with time cards or correct errors from manual data entry,” said Nairn-Rand. “Instead, they can rely on our technology and service expertise to ensure quality control and accuracy.”

COS also enables employers to manage a customized combination of automated HR and benefits administration services. Through COS, ADP manages, tracks and reports all workforce-related data collection on an employer’s behalf and facilitates processes including performance, compensation and employee data management, as well as benefits and carrier enrollment and statement distribution and reconciliation.

ADP provides compliance with the most current payroll legislation and provides the security of having the most up-to-date technology without having to invest in upgrades or maintenance. COS is ideal for organizations undergoing rapid workforce change, international companies that are expanding into Canada, or domestic organizations expanding into other provinces. The service also benefits organizations with issues related to government remittances, Service Canada timing issues, year-end management issues, time collection challenges and outdated systems.
