ADP Introduces Electronic Filing Service for Payroll Reporting and
WorkSafeBC Premium Remittances

Vancouver and Toronto, January 9, 2007 — ADP, the country's leading provider of integrated business solutions, in collaboration with WorkSafeBC, today announced that it has added a new paperless service to its offerings with the arrival of an electronic payroll reporting and remittance filing service for employers. The new service facilitates automatic calculations and electronic reporting and remittances of workers’ compensation premiums directly to WorkSafeBC.

“ADP’s mission is to dramatically reduce manual administrative processes in the workplace so organizations can focus on core competencies, and this new service takes us one step closer,” says Janice MacLellan, Director, Industry Relations, ADP. “We’re developing new and innovative ways to make our customers’ administrative lives easier. From Web-based Record of Employment submissions to electronic workers’ compensation reporting, our payroll, HR and time and labour management services are being customized to meet employers’ needs.”

Benefits of this new service offering include:

  • Reduced administration and paper burden: WorkSafeBC premium calculations, payroll reporting and remittances are fully automated as part of the payroll service, eliminating additional reporting and accounts payable tasks.
  • Improved WorkSafeBC reporting accuracy: ADP can manage complex reporting scenarios easily, including the accurate calculation for multiple classification codes, insurable and non-insurable earnings, and maximum assessable earnings when in a mid-reporting cycle.
  • Reduces the risk of non-compliance and late-filing penalties: ADP payroll calculations are extensively tested for regulatory compliance and updated based on annual changes to assessable earnings and maximums. Remittances are filed by ADP in a timely manner eliminating the risk for late-filing penalties.
”With this new electronic service, WorkSafeBC is able to respond to the needs of our customers and, at the same time, help payroll service providers like ADP meet the needs of their clients,” says Joan Taylor-Smith, Finance Systems Product Manager at WorkSafeBC.

This new service is available for ADP’s Telephone Payroll, pay@work™, Performance Pack™, and PaySpecialist® products. ADP is currently the only major provider of outsourced employer services in Canada to offer the integrated electronic filing of reports and premium remittances to WorkSafeBC on behalf of employers.
